Honeypot checker for BSC tokens
Paste a BNB Chain token address to see whether it can be sold, its buy and sell tax, owner powers, liquidity lock and top holders. Free, no sign-up.
What we check
- Sell test: a simulated buy and sell from a brand-new wallet. Nothing is sent to the chain.
- Buy and sell tax, measured in that test, and tax on plain transfers.
- Owner powers: minting more tokens, blocking wallets, pausing trading, changing the tax, and who holds those powers.
- Liquidity: how much is locked or burned, and until when.
- Holders: how much the largest wallets hold, including balances the token hides from the usual lists.
- Launch history: earlier tokens from the same wallet whose liquidity was removed soon after launch.
Every result becomes a score from 0 to 100 with a label: Low risk, Caution or High risk. How we score explains every rule.
What a check can't tell you
- An owner can change a token after we check it. Rescans narrow that window but can't close it.
- Rules that depend on the time, the block or the trade size can behave differently in a real trade.
Questions and answers
- What is a honeypot token?
- A token you can buy but can't sell, or can sell only at a very high tax. Its contract lets money in and blocks or takes it on the way out, often only for ordinary wallets, so the creator's own wallets can still sell.
- How do you check whether a token can be sold?
- We simulate buying about $50 of the token and selling it again from a brand-new random address, so a token can't prepare for it. If that fails, the trade is repeated the way a person would do it, through the PancakeSwap router. Nothing is ever sent to the chain and no real money is used.
- Which tokens can I check?
- Every BNB Chain token with a PancakeSwap pool holding $1,000 or more of liquidity. It is scanned when it reaches that, then every 15 minutes for its first 24 hours and every 6 hours after that.
- If the sell test passes, can I buy without worry?
- No. An owner can change a token after our scan, and a sell test is only one check. Read the whole report: tax, owner powers, liquidity lock, holders and launch history. Not financial advice. Do your own research.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Checking tokens on ClearDex is free and needs no account.
